Kucinich's Upcoming Fight

In the News: Sharon Jimenez, a former publicist and political strategist for Kucinich, stated that she believed the presidential race is most heavily based on money. Because candidates like Kucinich and Gravel could not rake up the cash, they were excluded from debates and eventually dropped out of the race. Jimenez believes that because of this focus on money from both parties, many voters are going to be registering as independents for the upcoming election. The actor, Sean Penn, had to cancel his appearance at a Kucinich fundraiser because of a scheduling conflict. After initially declining to participate in a debate with his competitors for the congressional seat, Kucinich decided to take part because of mounting criticism from his competitors and the media. While Kucinich's time in the news is being overshadowed by the remaining presidential candidates, time will tell if Kucinich will be able to be reelected to his seat in the 10th district of Ohio. The question remains whether his participation in the presidential race helped or hurt his chances of being reelected to Congress.

I agree with Sharon jimenez, the the prsidential race is "most heavily based on money." However, i do not think that those statements are news worthy because it is assumed that the presidential race is for the most part about money. Sean Penn not being able to appear at the Kucinich fundraiser on the other hand is exciting and thrilling. I am glad that celebrities are showing their support for Kucinich. I think that Kucinich will have a struggle in the coming electioins for Congress. It is uncertain, however, if the presidential race aided him or not. In my opinion i think it helped his chances because he can promote that he ran for president.
Good Luck Dennis.

I wonder what Kucinich and Jimenez would say about Ron Paul's success in raising large amounts of money online yet failing to perform in the primaries. Nevertheless, I think that money increasingly becomes an issue as the campaigns drag on for longer and longer periods of time. Perhaps Kucinich and others should investigate laws or amendments limiting the duration of elections.

The presidential race is based around money. The more money, the more funding and in turn, the better shot the candidate will have at becoming president. Money is directly related to the popularity of the candidate and in this case, obviously Kucinich isn't as popular as Obama or Hillary who are still in the race. I do however think that his participation in the presidential elections has boosted his popularity and will help him to be re-elected in Congress.
